UHF Connectors are designed during the World War II era when UHF referred to frequencies over 30 MHz. UHF connectors are general purpose units developed for use in low frequency systems from 0.6 - 300 MHz. It was Invented for use in the radio industry. UHF is an acronym for Ultra High Frequency because at the time 300 MHz was considered high frequency. UHF connectors are generally usable through what is now known as the VHF and HF frequencies and can handle RF power levels over 1 KW. Despite the name it is rarely used for actual UHF frequencies as they don't work well above 300 MHz.
Applications: Antennas, Cable Assembly, Low Frequency equipments, PA Systems and CB radios.
